Mrs. Wanda White Barnes, age 65, of Cedar Crossing, died Sunday, October 23, 2016 in Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation. She was a native of Toombs County, lived in Cedar Crossing most of her life, and was a 1969 graduate of Toombs Central High School. She worked as a Medicaid case worker for ten years with the Department of Family and Children Services in Lyons, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church, and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Barnes in 2014; and her parents, William Elmer White, Sr. and Virginia Wommack White.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by one son, Heath Barnes and wife Tanya; one daughter, Amy Barnes Morris and husband John; one brother, William E. White, Jr. and wife Angelene, all of Cedar Crossing; four grandchildren, Lane Morris, Lindy Morris, Hunter Davis, and Bryson Davis; three brothers-in-law, Jim Paul Barnes and wife Carolyn of Cedar Crossing, Randall Barnes and wife Brenda of Vidalia, and Mike Barnes of Uvalda; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey and Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
