Mr. Ray Smith, age 69, of East Dublin, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, moved to Okeechobee, Florida in 1970, and lived there until moving to East Dublin in 2001.  He retired after thirty years as a dairyman from E&S Dairy in Okeechobee, and was Pentecostal by faith.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and served one Tour of Duty.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gayle Tripp Smith; a daughter, Margaret Ann Smith; a granddaughter, Amanda Gayle Suarez; a great-grandson, Blake Tyler Lee Branom; parents, Frank Smith and Lizzie Odom Smith; one sister, Myrtle Phillips; and two brothers, Bobby Franklin Smith and George Everett Odom.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Annabelle Smith of East Dublin; three daughters, Glenda Carrol and husband Harold, Cheryl Allison and husband Ronnie, all of Okeechobee, and Teresa Smith and husband Bobby of Vidalia;one brother, Bo Payton and wife Debra of Dublin; six sisters, Lynn Gilliand and husband M.C., Hazel Whited, all of Vidalia, Evelyn Clark, Angela Walker and husband Donnie, all of Mt. Vernon, Mary Moore of Glenwood, and Macky Vickers of Montgomery County; six grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, Maryann,

Jessica, Michelle, and Amanda Marie; eleven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 12th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Sister June Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Tarrytown City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
