Sharpspur Community,

Mrs. Mildred W. Taylor, age 91, of Sharpspur Community, died Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and lived in the Sharpspur Community all of her life. She retired from Estroff’s after many years. She was a member of New Corinth Baptist Church and attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Taylor; two sons, James W. “Pebo” Taylor and Ray Taylor; parents, Chauncey and Lorene Hughes Wood; siblings, Charles Wood, Carl Wood, Alex Wood, Catherine Bellflower, and Sue Beck.   

Mrs. Taylor is survived by  one son, Danny Taylor and wife Beth of the Sharpspur Community; one sister, Alice Joyner of Johnson Corner; four grandchildren, Mike Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Gina Taylor all of Vidalia, and Jeffery Taylor and wife Sheena of Alston; one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Taylor of Vidalia; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Corley and Reverend Robbie Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 8:00.
