Vidalia,

Mrs. Josefina Villegas, age 83, of Vidalia, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Mexico, living El Paso, Texas and Colorado for many years, and has lived in Toombs County since 1982.  She worked with Southern Bell, Georgia Pine Straw, and was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Hispanic Baptist Church of Lyons.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Villegas; son, Albino Saavedra; and daughter, Estela Ybarra.

Mrs. Villegas is survived by five children, Jose Saavedra of El Paso, Maria Garcia of Mission, Texas, Javier Villegas of Elsa, Texas, Art Villegas of Lyons, and Jaime Villegas of Vidalia; twenty-five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 20th at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral with Pastor Juan Vallejo officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
