Lyons,

Mr. George Huey Morris, age 56, formerly of Cobbtown, died Friday, August 19, 2016 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Toombs County and lived most of his life in Cobbtown.  He worked for Foskey Construction and Powell Farms most of his life, and was a member of Hammonds Baptist Church. He was an encouragement to others, loved helping other people, talking to his friends, and watching NASCAR on Sundays.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Mae Graham Morris, and infant brother, Andrew Lee Morris.

Mr. Morris is survived by his father, Huey Long Morris and wife Molly of Brunswick; three sisters, Brenda Foskey and husband Steve of Lyons, Mollie Jo Purcell of Vidalia, and Janice Morris of Springfield; two brothers, Huey Marlin Morris and Marty Morris of Brunswick; two aunts, Willie Claude Gibson of Aiken, South Carolina, and Betty Jean of Keysville, and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21st at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Vinson officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in the South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
