Vidalia,

Mrs. Susie Boyd Bruce, age 58, of Vidalia, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at her home, after a sudden illness.  She was a native of Columbia, South Carolina, and was a 1974 graduate of Vidalia High School and Dublin School of Hair Design.  She was a master cosmetologist, and owned several businesses in Toombs County, including Snazzy Snippers, Urbest Hair Design, and Susie’s Hair.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, and everyone that knew Susie loved her.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Miriam Taylor Boyd; two brothers, Bill Taylor and Tom Boyd; and a nephew, Brandon Boyd.       

Susie is survived by her husband, Kelly Bruce of Vidalia; two sons, Clayton Sikes and wife Lydia Burk Sikes of Phenix City, Alabama, and Nick Sikes of Vidalia; one sister, Pat Mitchell of Vidalia; one brother, David Boyd of Vidalia; and three grandchildren, Mason Sikes, Layla Sikes, and Eva Sikes.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, March 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Waters officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until just prior to the service.
