Mr. Stan Yancey, age 68, of Vidalia, died Monday, February 8, 2016, at his home, after a sudden illness.  He was a native of Quitman, grew up in Bainbridge, and was a 1966 graduate of Bainbridge High School.  He moved to Toombs County in 1969, and started to work with Dixie Finance.  He presently was Branch Manager at Altamaha Bank and Trust.  He worked forty-one years in banking and began his career in 1975 with the First National Bank, and later with Brice Banking Company, and Peoples Bank. He was a member of the Higgston Baptist Church.  He was a long-time member of the Vidalia High School All Sports Boosters, and earlier in his life coached Vidalia Recreation Department football.  He previously served on the Vidalia Housing Authority Board of Directors, and was a former member of the Vidalia Kiwanis Club.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Yancey; and parents, Edgar and Vicie Irene Coan Yancey.

Mr. Yancey is survived by three children, Allen Yancey and wife Marie of Mt. Vernon, Ed Yancey and wife Jennifer, and Todd Yancey, all of Vidalia; seven grandchildren, Adam, Nicky, Jesse, Tiffany, Kylie, Tyler, and Elana Yancey; and one great-granddaughter Addie.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2277, Vidalia GA 30475.
