Mr. Ronald W. Phillips, age 66, of the Racket Town Community, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at his home, after a sudden illness. He lived in Toombs and southern Emanuel Counties all of his life, and was a 1969 graduate of Oak Park High School. He was owner/operator of R&B Trucking and worked with Dixon Timber Company for many years. He attended Pendleton Creek Community Church near Normantown. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tylie Mae Phillips; parents, Delmus and Fonnie Mae Waters Phillips; and a brother, Ervin Phillips.
Mr. Phillips is survived by two sons, Chris Phillips of Racket Town, and Scott Phillips of Vidalia; two brothers, Jerone Phillips and wife Connie and Wayne Phillips and wife Ann, all of Racket Town; and four grandchildren, Matthew Phillips, Olivia Phillips, McKinnley Phillips, and Layten Phillips.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Roberson officiating. Burial will follow later in the Waters Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
