Mr. L. Trenton Williams, Sr. age 87, of the Rock Springs Community, passed on to be with his wife and family in heaven on January 18, 2015 in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, after a brief illness. Trenton, known to many as “Haren”, was born on his family’s farm in 1927. He was one of 10 siblings. He went to serve in World War II in 1945. He served under Patton’s Royal Guard and had a role of guarding the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan at the end of the war. He returned home after the war and joined his family on the farm, where he spent the rest of his life working hard, providing for his family and making many friends in the surrounding communities. He met his wife, Louise Horne in 1965 and they were married in 1966. He was a member and Past Master of Millikens’s Creek Lodge # 302 in Cedar Crossing. Trenton was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Louise H. Williams; father, Johnnie Jackson Williams; mother, Cora O’Neal Williams all of the Rock Springs Community; four brothers, Palmer Williams of Augusta, Troy Williams of Lyons, Jack Williams of Cedar Crossing, J.C. Williams of Cedar Crossing, and Leo “Sprog” Williams of Cedar Crossing; two sisters, Cleo “Six” Clarke of Vidalia, and baby sister Joyce Williams of Cedar Crossing.

Trenton is survived by his son, Trent Williams and wife Stephanie of Lyons, three grandchildren, Chase, Analise and Leighton Williams of Lyons; two sisters, Wynette “Pinky” Milligan and husband G.W. “Billy” of Cedar Crossing, and Johnnie Jean Branch of Lyons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 21st at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Henry Dowd officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery near Alston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
