Dear Family,
Our hearts are so sad over the loss of this precious lady. When we moved to this community in 1974, we were a little lost and strangers to the area. She was the first person to reach out to us and make us feel welcome. Through the years, we can't count the times she has done special things for us.....fresh vegetables would appear on our porch, the famous Pittman Sausage would arrive around Christmas, her beloved yellow roses she sent when our babies were born, a phone call to check on us when the weather was bad, or if something was wrong in the community, the many, many phone conversations when she would give some much needed encouragement or advice....the list goes on and on. I remember fondly the day we brought Andrew home from the hospital. They shared the same birthday. Her car pulled up in the drive way when ours did. She helped us unload the car and get things inside. She was the first one to hold him when we got inside! I always admired and looked up to her. She was the perfect Southern Belle, a real Steel Magnolia. She loved Mr. Clyde, her family, her home, her church, her community, and her friends. She was so proud of her family and was so devoted to them. I think it so interesting how one's given name so perfectly suits them... Ruby Jewel..... She was definitely a precious stone! We'll miss her on this side, but am happy to know that she and Mr. Clyde are rocking together on Heaven's front porch. How blessed our lives are that we had the chance to know and love this precious jewel of a lady.
