I have just been advised of Roger's passing. Roger was our Platoon Sergeant in Vietnam. We all thought very highly of him and appreciated his leadership and guidance. He was fondly known to us as "Pappy", the traditional nickname for the oldest guy in the platoon - even though he was only 10 years older than most of us. In combat you quickly get to know someone and Pappy was one of the good ones. I had lost contact with him when I was wounded (25 Feb 1972) and sent home. I'd appreciate it if someone would contact me and bring me up to date with Pappy's life.
