What a loss....and shock. One of the most influential teachers in my life. I was just thinking about Mr. Braddock and wanted to reach out on FB and found Jana's post. He connected with his students and was a tremendous positive and intellectual influence for many in VHS just when it counted most... 9th grade. He also introduced my class to the Doobie Brothers in 1972 by forcing us all to listen to the entire LP in class on "Culture Day". Changed my musical life. He was loved by his students and God has another great one back at home.

After finding the website for TC, I'm saddened to read of the passing of one of my very closest friends in high school. He was such a great friend. I'm sorry for your loss and send prayers and blessings for you as you pass through this period of grief.

I know this is a great loss for you both, Faye and Gilbert. Just focus on your happy memories as a whole family unit preparing for the day when you will see Lawson, Harry and your parents again. Life is hard but God gives us the strength we need for these time. Love you all.

Faye, Gilbert and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have heard that He was very sick. You have had losses before but each death has it's own loss for each of us.I really wish there was more I could do to make this time easier for all of you. Faye, Gilbert and families, was saddened to hear of Lawson’s death. These are difficult times but are made a bit easier as each day passes and when the wonderful memories each of you shared through the years. Trusting in God and leaning on his comforting arms is part of the healing process and I pray for his touch upon you all. Certainly, by the condolences from friends, students, etc. warms your hearts to know how much Lawson poured into others lives and touched them as well.

Mr. Braddock was one of my favorite teachers. As a very shy, socially awkward teenager, he showed me the power of books, and started a lifelong joy of reading. He always made me feel like what I had to say mattered, especially when I needed it most. He will be in my heart always.
