Lyons,

Mrs. Jean Glaze Underwood, age 81, of Lyons, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after a sudden illness.  She was born in Augusta, was a graduate of Vidalia high School, and lived in Toombs County most her life.  She worked at Hazlehurst Manufacturing and Toombs County Manufacturing for many years, and was Baptist by faith.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Joseph Underwood in 1975; and parents, William Moseley Glaze and Kathleen Elizabeth Shank Glaze; and her sister, Barbara Holland.

Mrs. Underwood is survived by two children, Brian Underwood of Lyons, and Cindy Maltby of Normantown; one brother, Bill Glaze of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Stephanie Foskey and Matt Maltby; two great-grandchildren, Ian Cyree and Jemma Foskey; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 11th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Chancey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
