Lyons,

Mr. Ernest Bazemore, Jr., age 56, of Lyons, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, grew up in McIntosh County, and returned to Lyons in the mid 1970’s.  He was a carpenter and a commercial fisherman.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, Baptist by faith, and was a technological enthusiast.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Bazemore, Sr. and Nell Wilson Bazemore; and two brothers his twin, Edgar Bazemore and Johnny Bazemore.

Mr. Bazemore is survived by his wife, Maxine Silvers of Lyons; two children, Tosha Bazemore Rauton of Lyons, and Ernest Brandon Bazemore III; one sister, Teresia Bazemore Story and husband Doyle of Lyons; five grandchildren, Clayton, Delanie, Dakota, Alyda, and Gauge; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Blocker’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Albert White officiating.
