My heartfelt and deepest sympathies to Mrs. Carol and the rest of the family. He truly adored you all. Never a time that I would see him that he would not make mention of his family. It was very evident of his love for you all. I had the privilege of sitting in his class at BPC.... His humor kept you laughing and had a wonderful gift of teaching. He was instrumental in helping to lead me into Science Education... i will miss him...no matter where I would run into him... Grocery store, Walmart... Dr's office... He always took time to talk and catch up on what was going on in our lives.

Carol and Family, I am so sorry to learn of Haywood's passing. Although he never taught me, I knew him as a friend from the community, and while I was on the staff at Brewton-Parker College. May God wrap his loving arms around all of you during this difficult time, and give you peace and understanding. You all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

He was soft spoken and kind. He had a fantastic sense of humor. I enjoyed his classes for three years at Montgomery County High School, Class of 1963. Because of what I learned there, it made college so much easier. May God wrap his arms around his family and give them peace.

Dr. Boyd was one of my favorite teachers at Montgomery County High School, and I was fortunate to have him as my chemistry teacher at Brewton Parker. He instilled in me my love of science! I can remember his laughter and quiet way of positive teaching. Instead of admonishing us when our experiments didn't quite turn out as they should, he would encourage us to discover what went wrong. I always loved that about him. I know that he is resting in heavenly arms right now. His earthly body will be missed, but his soul is with God! I am praying for you, Mrs. Boyd, and Ken, Kay, and Michael. It is never easy to lose a loved one! I love all of you!

Dr. Boyd was our Chemistry and Physics teacher at Montgomery County High School in the early 60's. It was early in his career and we were all influenced by this young guy who was so smart and so nice to be around. Because of his easy nature, it wasn't clear until much later that we learned a lot more from him than Chemistry and Physics.
