Lyons,

Mr. Charles Eugene Williams, age 58, of Lyons, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Memorial Health University Hospital in Savannah, after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Lyons, was a in the U.S. Army veteran, and was Methodist by faith.  He worked at Georgia State Prison in Reidsville as a correctional officer, and at Mel Blount Youth Home.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Debbie Williams; and parents, Eugene and Eunice Hadden Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Sandra Williams of Lyons; two daughters, Pricilla Edwards and husband Jeremy of Vidalia, and Jennifer Lynn Williams of Moultrie; one brother, Wesley Williams of Toombs County; two sisters, Karen Willis of the Normantown Community, and Patricia Futch of Vidalia; five grandchildren, Valerie, Jeremy, Jr., Marcella, Victor, and Zimmie; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
