Yvonne (Byrd) Henderson

Yvonne Byrd Henderson, age 80, of Vidalia, died Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived most of her life in Vidalia. She was a 1963 graduate of Lyons High School and was a member of Vidalia First Assembly of God. She worked at Hazlehurst Manufacturing, Oxford Industries, and retired from Trane in Vidalia. She enjoyed bowling in local leagues, reading, collecting and taking pictures, gospel and country music, and collecting Bibles and dolls.

She is preceded in death by her former husband, Michael D. Henderson; son, Patrick Henry Sanders; and parents, W.R. Byrd and Maudie McGowan Byrd.

She is survived by one son, Michael D. Henderson and wife Kelly of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Brittny Henderson and Steven Hager of Hayden, Colorado, Arden Henderson, Aiden Henderson, and Kati Sanders, all of Vidalia; two great-grandchildren, Maecon Boatright and Ramsey Bryant; two brothers, Wilmur Byrd and wife Lindy of Lincolnton, and Larry Byrd and wife Ingrid of Lyons; nieces and nephews, including a niece, Sylvia Byrd.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, November 25th, 2025, at 3:00 at Ruth’s Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor Joe Gabbard officiating.
