Wynette (Whitaker) Willis

Mrs. Wynette Whitaker Willis, age 76, of Vidalia, died Saturday, May 9, 2020, at her home in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County, was a 1962 graduate of Montgomery County High School and had lived in Vidalia since 1969.  She worked at Oxford Industries, Toombs Manufacturing and retired from Toombs Apparel.  She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of God, and she enjoyed reading and baking.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Harmon Willis, Jr.; parents, Ira Clifton Whitaker and Rozie Lee Willis Whitaker; and two brothers, L.C. Whitaker and Levern “Buddy” Whitaker.

Mrs. Willis is survived by two children, Kim Willis White and husband Tim, and Kevin Willis, all of Vidalia; two brothers, Lenear Whitaker of Uvalda, and Ira Whitaker and wife Linda of Swainsboro; one grandson, Austin White; two great-grandsons, Cooper White and Walker White, all of Perry; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 13th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Blockers Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor Rodney Gibbs officiating.
