Mr. Winfred J. “Winky” Parham, age 74, went home to be with our Lord, Monday, July 26, 2021, after battling an extended illness. He passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Griffin, a graduate of Brewton Parker College and had lived in Toombs County since 1975. He retired as a salesman from Pineland Paper Company after having previously worked many years with Smoky Snyder Distributing. He loved the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Braves, riding his Harley and fishing on the creek bank. “Winky” was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Parham and Minnie Ruth Foster Parham.
His family includes his wife of forty-five years, Marcia Whitaker Parham of Lyons; two sons, Keith Parham and wife Katrina of Thomaston, and Clint Parham and wife Tina of Lyons; four grandchildren, Lacey Barfield and husband Shane and Adam Parham and wife Crystal, all of Thomaston, Kaine Parham and Karsyn Parham, both of Lyons; three great-grandchildren, Kailey Barfield, Carsen Barfield, and Chandler Parham, all of Thomaston.
"Winky" was loved by all who knew him, and he loved them BIG! Fly high PAPA!
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 28th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Albert White officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until just prior to the service.
