Mr. William “Billy” Howard McGuigan, age 75, of Vidalia, died Friday, October 10, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was born in New Jersey, and as child moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he lived until moving to Toombs County in 2000. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam serving one tour of duty; he was a gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter and was a mechanic. He worked with a dredging company in Jacksonville for many years and for several years worked with Moses Grass Company in Uvalda. He was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, wood working and golf. He is preceded in death by his father, William Charles McGuigan; and four siblings.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle L. McGuigan and Shannon R. McGuigan, both of Vidalia; mother, Elsie Fields McGuigan; six grandchildren, Patrick Beach, Jr. and wife Savannah, Autumn Espinosa and husband Shane, Amy Pittman and husband Josh, Summer Powell, Winter Fountain and husband Patrick, and Dakota Albritton and husband Joe; four sisters, Darlene McGuigan Wright of Waycross, Marcia McGuigan Cole and Monica McGuigan Foster, all of Jacksonville; one brother, Kenny McGuigan of Jacksonville; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, October 12th, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00.
