Wesley Dingle Luhn

Wesley Dingle Luhn, age 78, passed away peacefully the evening of January 20, 2022, in Vidalia, GA. He was a native of Charleston, SC and lived in Charleston, Walterboro, and Savannah before settling in Vidalia in 1980. He had a career as a civil servant, working at the Social Security Office in Vidalia and Swainsboro until he retired.  

He always gave his time, knowledge, and caring heart to the betterment of his community. This included helping to start the Red Cross in Vidalia, Secretary of the Vidalia Kiwanis Club, Band Booster President for Vidalia High School, Boy Scout Council Member and Wesley was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Vidalia. He always lent a hand when needed and lived a life in dedication to his family, neighbors, and friends.  

He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jan Luhn; his parents, Wesley Dee Luhn, Jr. and Kathleen Warren Luhn.

Wesley is survived by his one son, Clifford McQueen Luhn and wife Micheline Mendelsohn, who live in Arlington, VA; their children Catherine (12), Isabella (10) and Wesley IV (5); and two brothers, Robert Luhn and his wife Debbie; their children Robbie and Jodie and Warren Luhn and Jane; their children Gaelan and his wife Amber, David and his wife Melody and Amanda.

The funeral service will be Thursday, January 27th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Davis officiating.  Burial will follow on Friday, January 28th, at 12:30 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 342 Meeting St., Charleston, SC 29403.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
