Wanda Sue (Oglesby) Mobley

Wanda Sue Oglesby Mobley, age 71, of Vidalia, died Monday, October 11, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin after a battle with Covid.  She was born in Millen, was a 1968 graduate of Sardis-Girard-Alexander (SGA) High School in Sardis, and attended Augusta Technical College.  Wanda retired from Meadows Regional Medical Center after thirty years as Executive Assistant to multiple administrators.  She served as Meadows Hospital Board Coordinator as well as on the Meadows Hospital Operating Board.  She also served on the boards of the Meadows Health Care Alliance, the Toombs Hospital Authority, Southeastern Technical College Advisory Committee and was an election poll manager. She was a member of the Vidalia Kiwanis Club and attended Connection Church in Vidalia and the Uvalda Church of God.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Oglesby and Doris Inez Widner Oglesby; and two brothers, Ralph Emory Widner and Donnie Lee Oglesby.

Her family includes her son, Kevin James Mobley and wife Karen of Statesboro; her daughter, Susan “Suzie” Leigh Fowler of Vidalia; one brother, Bobbie Dale Oglesby and wife Sally of Girard; two sisters, Gloria June Conner and husband Donald of Sylvania and Debbie Ruth Johnson of Evans; her sister-in-law, Cindy Widner; and three grandchildren, Madison Grace Mobley and Heath Jackson Mobley of Statesboro, and Elijah Gage Fowler of Vidalia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, October 14th from 6:00 until 8:00 and suggest that masks be worn and to social distance for the visitation and funeral.

The funeral will be held Friday morning, October 15th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Kelly Newton officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Girard, GA.
