Mrs. Vivian T. Sewell, age 77, of the South Thompson Community, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at her granddaughter’s home after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and had worked at Hazlehurst Manufacturing, and more recently worked with her family at John’s Country Junction. She was a gardener and especially enjoyed oil painting and various artwork and mediums. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Sewell; daughter, Rhonda Alleen Phillips; son, Nick Phillips; parents, Wallace Smith and Doshaleen Buttersworth Smith; and a sister, Vicki Thompson.
Mrs. Sewell is survived by one son, John E. McDonald, Sr. and wife Fran; two grandchildren, Amy McDonald Lynn and husband Brett, John E. McDonald, Jr. and wife Amanda; three great-grandchildren, Slade McDonald, Major McDonald and Myla Lynn, all of the South Thompson Community; two brothers, Allen Smith and wife Ann of Vidalia, and Ronald Smith of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside funeral service was held Friday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating. Entombment followed.
