Mrs. Vera Jane Bryant, age 68, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, March 17, 2025, at Oxley Park Health & Rehab in Lyons following an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Hazlehurst most of her life. She was a graduate of Lyons Senior High School, and a licensed practical nurse that loved to care for people. She was a member of the Oasis Church of God; she enjoyed gardening, yard work, and was very independent and hard working. Two daughters, Jessica Copeland and Janie Kight; parents, John William Harden and Eva Cannady Harden; brother, Ronnie Harden; and sister, Peggy Ann Cowart, precede her in death.
Her family includes her husband of thirty years, Danny Earl Bryant of Hazlehurst; two sons, Paul Ashley Harden of Lyons, and Christopher Allen Waters Bryant of Hazlehurst; two sisters, Judy Newsome of Uvalda, and Diane Heatherington and husband Allen of Lyons; three brothers, Wayne Harden and wife Joany of Dublin, Wendell Harden and wife Connie of Harvest, Alabama, and Joseph Harden of Lyons; eight grandchildren, Paul Harden, Jr., Natalie Harden, Katelynn Harden, Lexy Harden, Payton Harden, Kalie Copeland, Chelsea Wells, and Skylar Stargel; six great-grandchildren, Hayden Webber, Elijah Meeks, Gracie Meeks, Noah Meeks, Treyton Wells, and Mayleigh Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, March 18th from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, March 19th, 2025, at 3:00 at Oasis Church of God with the pastor, Bishop Gilbert Wommack and Pastor Don Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Ohoopee Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Wayne Harden, Wendell Harden, Joseph Harden, Michael Reddish, Manning Poole, Timmy Toole, Austin Wells, and Cody Whitfield.
