Tony Zorn Obituary

Tony Patrick Zorn, 66 years of age, of Lyons, Georgia, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. He leaves behind his wife, Mary, who he has known and loved for 50 years. Together they enjoyed a beautiful family of three children, Chad, Cody and Kathryn; as well as nine grandchildren that were his whole world, Esther, Abigail, C.A., Cody Jr., Leah, Charity, Cooper, Weston and Isabella.

Tony was all about Faith, Family and Flying and it showed in how he lived every day.    His favorite way to spend an afternoon was in his planes, buzzing over the fields, riverbeds, landing on sandbars, and looking for families to impress with his “air shows”. He flew nearly every afternoon. Tony would even go back later with his wife and grandkids to visit and get to know some of the folks he would do fly-overs for. There are so many videos and posts on Facebook that commemorate his backcountry stunts by people who caught his flying on camera.

His grandchildren have so many wonderful memories and laughs about flying along with Papa on one of his backcountry adventures or attending fly-ins with him and Grandma. Tony wanted kids to love flying as much as he did!

Most importantly, Tony knew Jesus Christ as His personal Savior. He knew where he was going, to Heaven when he left this life. Tony wanted everyone he met to KNOW the Lord that he loved so much!

He always said that it would suit him just fine, if the Lord would call him home from the seat of his plane. Tony didn’t know when that would be, but he lived in such a way that everyone knew he was ready when his time came. Wednesday, he got his wish.

We grieve his loss greatly. There will be a void in our lives that no one will ever quite fill. Tony was one of a kind! But for sure, this is not goodbye… it’s just, “I’ll see you later!”

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Philippians 1:21 KJV
