Mrs. Tommie Hammock Hall, age 92, of Vidalia, died Thursday, March 19, 2020, in The Oaks Bethany after an extended illness. A native of the Kibbee Community, she attended Kibbee schools where she played basketball. She lived in Vidalia most of her life and worked in Hazlehurst Manufacturing for many years. She was a caregiver for her husband for sixteen years and later was a greeter at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed gospel sings, dancing and shopping. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rube Hall, Jr., and her son, Rufus Dooner Hall, parents, Tom Hammock, and Annie Lee Hayes Hammock, and she was the last of eight siblings.
Mrs. Hall is survived by three children, Donald “J.D.” Hall and wife Sandra, Debbie Hall Davis and husband Marvin all of Vidalia, Dianne Hall Gibbs and husband Ernest of Dublin; six grandchildren, Steve Hall, Lufkin, Texas, Lisa Hall Jones and husband Matt, and John David Hall and wife Katie Lynn of Vidalia, Ernest Gibbs, Jr. of Dublin, Dustin Dooner Hall and wife Lindsay, of Vidalia, and Erik Gibbs and wife Beth of Dublin; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside was held funeral service was held Saturday, March 21st, at 1:00 p.m. at the North Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.
