Tina (Shuman) Cowart

Mrs. Tina Shuman Cowart, age 67, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and attended Lyons Senior High School.  She and her late husband were owners of Cowart Farms, and she was Baptist by faith.  Tina enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Paul Cowart; and parents, Marcus James Shuman and Helen Inez James Shuman.

Her family includes two children, Rodney Wynn and wife Jackie of Tampa, Florida, and Kim Wynn and Seth Fontenot of Augusta; three stepchildren, Chris Cowart Murphey and husband Marvin of Waynesboro, Jimmy Cowart and Jennifer Knight and Anthony Cowart and wife Karen, all of the Marvin Yancey Community; two sisters, Patricia Shuman Hattaway and husband Jimmy of Reidsville, and Madalyn Shuman Hemphill of Vidalia; seven grandchildren, Celina Wynn, Reilly Wynn and wife Leah, Chet Brazell, Kalina Wynn, Kinsley Monroe, Chris Wright, and Koen Fountain; two great-grandchildren, Kenji Wynn and Raijin Wynn; four step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, November 19th, from 1:00 until just prior to the funeral service at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Jonas officiating.  Burial will follow at Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
