Mr. Timothy Blake King, 55, of Vidalia, GA, went to be with his Savior on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, GA. He was born April 3, 1970, in Winston-Salem to Wade Harding and Mildred Conner King. Tim graduated from Davie High School in 1988. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1992 from High Point University. God called him from corporate work to full-time ministry in the mid-90s. Tim yielded to that call in 1999. He served Jesus Christ in vocational ministry at First Baptist Church – Sparta, TN (2001-2008) and Blaise Baptist Church (2009-2022). He coached youth sports for his entire adult life. Baseball and football at Davie Little League, several travel softball teams, FHE Hawks baseball (4 years) and softball (7 years), and countless Upward flag football and basketball teams. He spent the final months of his life serving at Vidalia Heritage Academy (Georgia) as a teacher and baseball and football coach. He loved building things, spending time with his family outside, at the beach, ball field, and in the backyard with their dog, and glorifying God day by day. Mr. King’s personal mission statement was: “To know Him more, day by day, and to make Him more famous.”
Tim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wendy H. King; two daughters, Emma and Laura; a son, Daniel (Stevie Joy – his “daughter-in-love”) King of Vidalia, GA; his mother, Mildred King of Farmington; two sisters, Cindy (Kenny) Lamb of Tobaccoville and Emily Hellard of Farmington; several nephews and a niece; many close friends; and innumerable brothers and sisters in Christ.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 P.M., Saturday, Feb. 28, at Blaise Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC, with Revs. Ken Furches and David Childress officiating. The family will welcome visitors at the church from 1:30-3:00 P.M.
