Mr. George Timothy “Tim” McCoy, age 61, of Vidalia, died Friday, May 27, 2022, at his home after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, a 1979 graduate of Vidalia High School and a graduate of Swainsboro Technical College. He worked for more than forty years as a sheet metal fabricator for Georgia Machine, Georgia High-Tech, Fab-Tech, Advance Fabrication and was also self-employed. He was a lifelong member of North Thompson Baptist Church and a former member of the Jaycees. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, golfing and grilling. He is preceded in death by his father, Colon McCoy.
His family includes his wife of forty-two years, Sonya McCoy of Vidalia; two children, Jodi Flowers and husband Jonathan, and Ben McCoy and wife April, all of Vidalia; his mother, Levonia “Bonnie” McCoy of Vidalia; one sister, Dianne Curl and husband Roy of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Chris McCoy and wife Danna of Vidalia; five grandchildren, Jake Conner, Bailey Conner, Sarah Bargeron, Thomas Stephens and Seamus Stephens; three great-grandchildren, Ella-Rose Stephens, Paxton Bargeron and Drew Bargeron; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and forty-one first cousins.
The funeral service will be Monday afternoon, May 30th, at 3:00 in the chapel of the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Phillips and Pastor Melvin Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at North Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00.
