Mr. Thomas “Ram” Randolph O’Neal, age 93, of Vidalia, died Monday, May 4, 2026, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on December 21, 1932 to the late William Henry O’Neal and Ethel Wilder O’Neal. He was a native of Toombs County, growing up in the Toombs Central Community and lived in Vidalia most of his life. He was a graduate of Toombs Central School and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War Era. He was former owner of O’Neal Cable Splicing, General Communications, and Sage Communications. He was a lifelong farmer, and served on the Brice Banking Company Board of Directors. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking breakfast for the Brotherhood of the church. His whole life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two wives, Jewel Mosley O’Neal and Trena Williams Williamson O’Neal; and six siblings, Wade O’Neal Sr., J.B. O’Neal, Ernest O’Neal, Lois O’Neal Wilkes, Sara Frances “Punkin” O’Neal Padgett, and Martha “Shag” O’Neal NeeSmith.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry O’Neal Fountain and husband Chess of Vidalia, and Brenda O’Neal Meadows and husband Jimmy of Fernandina Beach, Florida; one stepdaughter, Jena Williamson McBay and husband Mike of Madison; six grandchildren, Blake Fountain of Vidalia, Haley Clements and husband “Pug” of Ailey, Tom Meadows of Gainesville, Florida, and Margaret Meadows of Fernandina Beach, Haley Allmond and husband John, and Morgan Couch and husband Andrew; six great-grandchildren, Parks, Wilder, Asher, Brock, Brogen, and Hudson; one brother-in-law, John E. “Bo” Mosley of Macon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at 3:00 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Randy McDuffie officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Tabernacle Baptist Church from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
