Thomas M. Copeland

Mr. Thomas M. Copeland, age 82, of the Center Community, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  He was born in Toombs County where he lived most of his life and in Ware County for fifteen years.  He worked with Mitchell & Collins Construction Company for many years and more recently owned a lawn care business.  He attended South Thompson Baptist Church.  Thomas was a sweet gentle man who loved children and they loved him.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Gassett Copeland; two sons, Darrell Copeland and Charlie Copeland; parents, Lonnie Francis Copeland, Sr. and Nancy Eugene Moye Copeland; one sister, Sarah Frances Copeland Grimes; and one brother, Francis F. Copeland, Jr.

Survivors include one brother, Paul Copeland and wife Miriam of Center; adopted daughter, Ashley Mock and husband Ronnie, and their children, Aryana Mock and Zayne Mock; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside memorial will be at a later date.
