Mr. Thomas L “Happy” Williams, age 94, of Lyons, died Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Oxley Park Health & Rehab in Lyons. He was a native of and lived in Toombs County most of his life. He was a self-employed painter most of his life and was a former member of Painters Local Union #1169 in Brunswick. He married Catherine Montondo on March 21, 1954 in Kingsland, Georgia. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, riding dirt roads, and visiting family and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, George Washington Williams and Mattie Bell Wise; stepfather, Pete Wise; two daughters, Melody Ayala and Violet Escoe; daughter-in-law Donna Williams; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Catherine Williams of Lyons; two sons, Tommy Williams and wife Susan of Collins, and Robert Williams of Lyons; two daughters, Tuesday Calistro and husband Salvador, and April Enriquez, all of Lyons; two sisters, Ruby Deboyd of Yulee, Florida and Elizabeth Thorpe of Callahan, Florida; ten grandchildren, Catherine, Christy, Michael, Robin, Ricky, Luis Antonio, Victoria, Abigail, Colby and Salvador; eighteen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday morning, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Sherry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00m until just prior to the service.
