Mr. Thomas D Johnson, age 81, of Macon, Ga, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022, after an extended illness. He was a native of the Long Pond Community in Montgomery County. He graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1959 and went on to graduate from Georgia Southern College with a degree in Industrial Technology and Engineering in 1964.
After graduation, Thomas moved to Macon, Ga, where he spent many years as a dedicated member of Sertoma Club, where he served as president for several years. He enjoyed an active membership in Middle Georgia Toastmasters and was an invested part of the Dale Carnegie Association. He spent a lifetime working in sales, and as a business owner, in the petroleum industry.
Thomas served his country as a member of the Air National Guard from 1966 through 1971, when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the 165th Support Squadron.
Thomas is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. AC Johnson of Long Pond, as well as an infant sister.
Mr. Johnson is survived by Dottie Kea Johnson of Macon, Ga, daughter, Melanie Dee Langston and husband Glen, their two children, Caroline and Kathryn, sons Carter and Warren, Carter’s wife Tracy, their children, Joseph, Camille, Caroline, Sara Fletcher, Emma, and Jack, and Warren’s wife Andi, their children Alexander and Abby. His brother, Daniel P Johnson and his wife Lynn of Cleveland, Ga., and one niece, Jordan Kuhn, her husband Erick, and their son Parker. In addition, Thomas is survived by many loving and devoted cousins.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 Thursday, April 21st, in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Nita Crump officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Long Pond Cemetery.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to father together for a casual lunch at the Long Pond Community House,
