Theresa (Campbell) Harris

Mrs. Theresa Campbell Harris, age 83, of Vidalia, died Monday, October 14, 2024, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was born in Tift County on November 22, 1940, to the late William Vander Campbell and Doris Leola Forrest Campbell.  She moved to Vidalia in 1950 and graduated from Vidalia High School in 1958.  While in high school, she worked at Pal Theater in Vidalia.  She worked with Piggly Wiggly Southern for many years, until their closure, and retired from Meadows Regional Medical Center.  She was a former member of Smith Street Baptist Church and a member of First Baptist Church in Vidalia and the Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class.  She enjoyed nature, the outdoors, walking, reading, putting together puzzles, and spending time with family.  In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband of thirty-three years, William Lucien “Billy” Harris, Sr.; and three brothers, Russell Campbell, Bill Campbell, and Jack Campbell.

Her family includes one stepson, Billy Harris, Jr. and wife Shelley, one step-granddaughter, Ava Waid, all of Brooklet; one brother, Alfred L. Campbell of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Barbara Campbell Wallace of Shellman Bluff, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:30.

A graveside funeral service will be Sunday, October 20th, 2024, at 3:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery with Reverend Don Moye officiating.
