Terry L. Phillips

Mr. Terry L. Phillips, age 59, of Lyons, died Monday, January 23, 2023, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness.  He was a native of Toombs County and lived in Lyons most of his life.  He attended Lyons Senior High School and was a meat cutter for more than forty years, working with McLemore’s Abattoir, Bi-Lo, and Food Lion, and as meat market manager at Harvey’s in Reidsville.  Terry enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He is preceded in death by his father, Thurman L. Phillips.

His family includes his mother, Evelyn Darden Herring and husband Richard of Lyons; one brother, Glenn T. Phillips and wife Kathy of Vidalia, two nieces, Jennifer Phillips and Jessica Phillips, both of Vidalia; two great-nieces, Macy Strickland and Ariel Sikes; and one great-nephew, Bryton Sikes.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

The graveside funeral service will be Friday morning, January 27th, at 11:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery with Reverend Buddy Toole officiating.
