Mrs. Teresa Wesberry Johnson, age 58, of the McGregor Community, died Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Community House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was born in Covington, Kentucky, as a child moved to Toombs County, attended Lyons Senior High School, and moved to Montgomery County in 1986. She worked with Cyber South, Savannah Luggage Works, Amicitia Health Care, and more recently as a 911 operator with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Teresa was Baptist by faith, was a member of the Quint Shrine Ladies Auxiliary, and past Worthy Matron of Toombs Chapter #546 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed motorcycle rides to the mountains and benefit poker runs. She is preceded in death by her father, John Wesberry.
Her family includes her husband of forty-two years, “Bear” Johnson; three sons, Charnic Johnson, Jr. and wife Gail, Robert Johnson and fiancé Amy Mann, all of McGregor, and Scott Bargeron and Katrina of Mt. Vernon; her mother, Kathy Young of Lyons; two sisters, Mary Youmans and husband Wayne of Lyons, and Carol Horne and husband James of the McNatt Falls Community; two brothers, J.R. Wesberry and wife Sylvia of Cochran, and John Wesberry and wife Rhonda of Anderson, South Carolina; grandchildren, Shianne, Kaleb, Makayla, Elec, Thomas, Ava, Kyle, Jordan, Kody, Noah, Mikayla, Logan; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Sunday, November 14th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Bratton officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
