Tammy M. Coe Peacock, age 54, of Lyons, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at Community Hospice after a brief battle with cancer. She was a 1988 graduate of Toombs County High School. Tammy worked in law enforcement for many years as a 911 dispatcher for Toombs, Tattnall, and Montgomery counties, as well as the Vidalia Police Department. She was also the administrative assistant to the Captain of Investigations for the Vidalia Police Department for the past six years. Tammy was loved, appreciated and respected by her many friends and co-workers. She enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes, shopping, going to the beach and taking road trips. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Johnny Kendall Osborne; father, Dempsey Coe; maternal grandparents, Carlton and Bertha Edenfield; paternal grandparents, Manson and Dollie Bell Coe; and stepfather, Gene Moore.
Her family includes her mother, Louise Moore and her son, Dempsey Wheeler, both of Lyons; one sister, Janet Hester and husband Kent; nephew, Andrew Bryant and wife Jackie, all of Monroe, North Carolina; niece, Ashley Ricks and husband Rusty of Concord, North Carolina; great-nephews, Tyler Rorie and Ellio Bryant; great-niece, Rosie Bryant; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Matt Nesmith of Metter.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, November 14th at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00.
A memorial service will be held later.
