Mr. Talmadge Mead, age 83, of Vidalia, died Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a 1959 graduate of Vidalia High School. He was a contractor and builder most of his life and owner of H.T. Mead Remodeling. He was a member of North Thompson Baptist Church, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, foxhunting, and raising Walker Hounds. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lonnette McBride Mead; his son, Matt Mead; parents, Henry Cleo Mead and Gladys Farrow Mead; one sister, Lucille Mead Outlaw; and two brothers, Junior Mead and Doug Mead.
His family includes two daughters, Cindy Mead Skaggs and husband Jim, and Lisa Mead Conley and husband Mark, all of Statesboro; daughter-in-law, Heather Mead of Vidalia; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, from 1:00 until just prior to the funeral service at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at North Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to North Thompson Baptist Church, 404 North Thompson Church Road, Vidalia, GA 30474.
