Sylvia (Lewis) Collins

Mrs. Sylvia Collins, age 77, of Lyons, died Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia.  She was born in Jeff Davis County and raised in Appling County.  She was a graduate of Appling County High School and lived in Lyons most of her life.  She worked at Captain’s Corner in Vidalia for many years.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, the outdoors, fishing, shopping, and riding her golf cart.  She is preceded in death by her father, Jesse D. Lewis; mother, Bertha Claxton Beach.

Her family includes her husband of twenty-seven years, Earl Collins of Lyons; two sons, Shannon Youmans and wife Lorri of Dublin, and Will Collins; two grandchildren, Brittney Pittman and husband Cody of Cedar Crossing, and Taylor Youmans of Lyons; and two great-grandchildren, Bonnie Lurray Pittman and Wrenleigh Holcombe.
