Shirley Mae Renard

Mrs. Shirley Mae Renard, age 78, of Lyons, died Monday, August 23, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a brief illness.  She was a native of Hollywood, Florida and graduated high school there.  She moved to Eustis, Florida in 1972, and lived there until moving to Toombs County in 2008.  While in Florida, she was Sales Manager for the Orlando Sentinel for many years before retiring.  After her retirement, she and her husband were full-time missionaries with Campers on Mission.  She was a former member of Life Community Church in Eustis and was a member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church where she was active in the Card Ministry and was part of the Dixie Dumplings at the church; and she enjoyed crafts.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Renard; parents, Harper Hardway and Dorothy Marie Amper Hardway; and two brothers, Wayne Hardway and Bob Hardway.

Her family includes five children, Dorothy Anderson and husband Quince of Lyons, Roy Renard and wife Susan of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mike Renard and wife Connie of Apopka, Florida, George Renard and wife Becky of Fruitland, Florida, and Jenny Breland and husband Doug of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Mary Iden and husband Chuck of Lyons; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 10th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
