Shirley (Willis) Watson

Shirley Willis Watson, age 64, of Sumter, South Carolina, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at her home residence, following a sudden illness.  She was born Orlando, Florida and lived in Orange County, Florida, Toombs County, Georgia and Sumter, most of her life.  She was a homemaker, and member of St. Amant Baptist Church.  Shirley enjoyed walking, cooking, writing letters, sending cards, and she was very artistic and creative.  Her husband, Bobby Earl Watson; father, Morgan Carlton Willis, Sr.; two sisters, Peggy Sue Willis Massey and Wanda Faye Willis; one brother, Morgan Carlton Willis, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Roger Trimble, precede her in death.

Her family includes five children, Ronnie Earl Willis of Orlando, Robert Lee Johnson of Kissimmee, Florida, Matthew Johnson of Henderson, Kentucky, Jennifer Lynn Richardson of Independence, Louisiana, and Kimberly Dawn Johnson of Vidalia; her mother, Lily Willis Renew of Lyons; four sisters, Sarah Willis Trimble of Lyons, Linda Willis Revel and husband Gary of Killeen, Texas, Brenda Gail Willis Walker of the South Thompson Community, and “Charlie” Willis Harrell of Adrian; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A family memorial service will be held later at her mother’s home.
