Shelby Jean (Mimbs) Miller

Shelby Jean Mimbs Miller, age 80, of Uvalda, died Friday, February 6, 2026, at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehab Center in Hazlehurst following as extended illness. She was born on February 22, 1945, in Treutlen County. Her father was a sharecropper, and she grew up in and around Treutlen County. She later moved to Toombs County, attended Toombs Central School and lived most of her adult life in Uvalda. She always worked hard for her family, and worked at Hazlehurst, Uvalda, Cedar Crossing, and Oxford Manufacturers and at local convenient stores. She was Baptist by faith.

She is preceded in death by her former husband, Ronnie Thomas Brantley; grandson, Michael Glisson; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Braxton “Bubba” McCarty and Braylnn Thomas “Fat Man” Brantley; parents, Claude Mimbs and Mamie Frost Mimbs; and four siblings, James “Jim” Mimbs, Betty Mimbs Sanders, Ramona Mimbs Hooks, and Mary Ellen “Coot” Mimbs.

She is survived by three children, Gail Brantley Glisson and husband Jerry of Uvalda, Rhonda Sue Brantley and husband Danny Lindsey of the Center Community, and Tony Brantley and wife Michelle of Uvalda; five grandchildren, Brandon Green and Stephanie Khabirov and husband Almaz, all of Vidalia, Wendy Waters and husband Michael of Hazlehurst, and Tori Brantley and Tressa Brantley of Uvalda; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy Mimbs and wife Debra of Vidalia; two sisters, Grace Hendon and husband Elmer of Soperton, and Patricia McNeely of Metter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in the Minter Community in Laurens County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
