Sarah (Young) Morris

Mrs. Sarah E. Young Morris, age 71, of Lyons, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, at home after a sudden illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, lived in Florida for a short time, but made Lyons her home for most of her life. She was a 1970 graduate of Lyons High School, a graduate of Dublin Cosmetology School and was a licensed cosmetologist.  She worked as a waitress in several restaurants in Vidalia, including the former Western Sizzlin.  Sarah was a member of Mt. Shady Missionary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed growing flowers, sewing, cooking, and loved her family deeply.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend James M. Young and Alice Bush Young; and sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Young.

Her family includes one daughter, De Lisa Sapp and husband David of Cobbtown; two brothers, including her twin brother, Sam Young of Lyons, and Stanley Young and wife Drenda of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Jordan Walker,  and Destiny Willis and husband Daniel, all of Cobbtown; one great-grandson, Walker Willis of Cobbtown; several nieces and nephews; and her long-time companion, Ray Wickstrom.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Hershel Clements officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Shady Missionary Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until prior to the service.
