Sanford "Andy" Anderson

Mr. Sanford “Andy” Anderson, age 93, of the Toombs Central Community, died Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia.  A native Toombs County, he was a graduate of Toombs Central School, and was a U.S. Army veteran.  He worked at Union Camp in Savannah for many years, lived in Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania for twenty-five years before returning to Toombs County in 1987.  He worked with U.S. Jones at the funeral home for several years, and was a member of the Vidalia Presbyterian Church.  He and his late wife enjoyed gospel sings, especially attending sings sponsored and organized by his brother Claude.  He was active in putting together the Anderson Family Reunion at Partin Park.  He enjoyed baseball, NASCAR, and dining at local restaurants.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Englert Anderson; parents, Wright Anderson and Minnie Underwood Anderson and Hershel and Myrtle Harrell; and eight siblings.

His family includes one brother, Gilbert Anderson of Lyons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Friday, June 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Gladding officiating.  Burial will follow at Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
