Sallie Ruth (Wood) Sprouse

Mrs. Sallie Ruth Wood Sprouse, age 81, of Vidalia, died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Treutlen County Health and Rehab in Soperton after an extended illness.  She was a native of Soperton, living in Florida for many years, and moving to Vidalia in 2002.  She retired from nursing, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lyons.  Preceding her in death is her husband, George Allen Sprouse; two daughters, Jessica Elaine Ferguson and Elizabeth Davis; and parents, Eschol Wood and Bertie Clements Wood; one sister, Mallie Needer; and her furbaby, Doc.

Her family includes one daughter, Sherrie Sellers of East Dublin; one brother, Pastor Ray Wood and wife Christy of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Bonnie Faye Collins and husband Tommy of Lyons; one son-in-law, Rusty Davis of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; four grandchildren,  Michael Sellers of Dublin, Kristy Davis of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Misty Harper and Trent Ferguson, both of Winder; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a special friend, Alice Kight; and her furbaby, Tom.

A graveside funeral will be Tuesday, April 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at Red Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery in Treutlen County with Pastor Ray Wood officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
