Ruth "Ruby" Blaxton Palmer

Mrs. Ruth “Ruby” Blaxton Palmer, age 87, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at her home after an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County, where she lived most of her life and lived in Claxton and Savannah for several years.  She was a homemaker, a member of Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and she was an avid reader and an avid watcher of old western movies.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Palmer; parents, Tosh and Donna Blaxton; and a brother, Billy Blaxton.

Mrs. Palmer is survived by three children, Patty Devereaux and husband Vaughn, Scott Palmer and wife Tammie, all of Vidalia, and Russell Palmer of Claxton; two sisters, Janice Palmer and husband Leland, and Benilda Craft and husband Sammy of Lyons; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 15th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Chris Palmer officiating.
