Ms. Ruby Lee Strickland Faircloth, age 70, of Lyons, died Friday, August 2, 2024, at her daughter’s home, following an extended illness. She was a native of the Johnson Corner Community and lived in Vidalia most of her life. She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. She enjoyed watching Westerns, listening to her idol, Elvis, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Tommie Faircloth, Sr.; son, Tommy Faircloth, Jr.; parents, Remer Newton ”R.N.” Strickland and Frances Parrish Strickland; and five brothers, Albert, Charlie, Harley, Patsy, and Newton Strickland.
Her family includes four children, Krystal McDonald and husband Ray of Higgston, Amanda Swinton and Shan McRae of Lyons, James Faircloth and wife Leslie of Lyons, and Melisa Childs of Vidalia; two brothers, Steve Strickland of Wauchula, Florida and William Strickland of Vidalia; three sisters-in-law, Lisa Strickland of Vidalia, Reba Strickland of Lyons, and Mary Strickland of Vidalia; eighteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Tuesday morning, August 6th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
