Mrs. Roseann Lewis “MeMe” Roberts, age 64, of Milledgeville, died Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County, grew up in Lyons, was a 1979 graduate of Lyons Senior High School, and had lived in Milledgeville most of her life. She retired after twenty years as a self-employed photographer and was a member of Freedom Church in Milledgeville. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewell Van Lewis, Jr. and Lorraine Usher Lewis; and one brother, Steve Lewis.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Joe Roberts; two daughters, Sterling Roberts Roberts and husband Kelly, and Sara Roberts Grizzard and husband Billy; five grandchildren, Meadow Roberts, Autumn Roberts, Cameron Poteet, Maddie Castillo, and Anslee Grizzard, all of Milledgeville; one brother, Jerry Lewis and wife Renee of the New Branch Community; one sister, Sharon Lewis Taylor and husband Bill of Carrolton; one sister-in-law, Sue Lewis of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon, January 10th from 1:30 until 2:30.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 10th, 2026, at 3:00 at Lyons City Cemetery with Pastors Tim Thomas, Randall Thomas, and Gary Yonce officiating.
