Mr. Ronald W. Odom, age 81, of Lyons, died Friday evening, October 25, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta after an extended illness. He was a native of Lyons and proudly lived there all of his life, and he was a 1961 graduate of Lyons High School. He worked as a warehouse manager with Davis Supply Company and later Shuman’s Electric and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lyons. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside, riding his lawn mower, patrolling the neighborhood and supervising. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olen Dewitt Odom and Abbie Louise Powell Odom and siblings, Virgil Odom and Betty Joyce Morris.
His family includes his wife of fifty-three years, DeAnn Odom of Lyons; four children, Olen Wayne Odom and Tonia Thomas of Webb, Alabama, Tonya Brannon and husband Tony of Cedar Crossing, Brian Odom and wife Jessica of Lyons, and Christopher Odom of Higgston; one sister, Wanda Faye Bass of Milledgeville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Heather Williams and husband Wesley, Tyler James and wife Brooke, Britt Brannon, Dakota Brannon, Jonathon Odom, Ashlyn Odom, and Michael Odom; six great-grandchildren, Kali Register, Easton Bishop, Carson Williams, Wyatt James, Anna Grace James and Kinsley Brannon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, October 29th at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00.
The graveside funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, October 30th at 2:00 at Hardens Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Rick Wilson and Charles Newsome officiating.
