Mrs. Robena Durden Colson, age 90, of the Blue Ridge Community, died Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Meadows Park Health & Rehab in Vidalia, following an extended illness. She was a native of Bulloch County and moved to Dublin at a young age. She moved to Warner Robins in 1953 and has lived in Toombs County since 1962. She was supervisor at Federal Pacific in Vidalia for twenty-one years and was a long-time member of Vidalia Old Line Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Lester Colson; parents, James Inman Durden and Esther Lucindy Hodges Durden; one sister, Juanita Durden Huette; and two brothers, James Durden and Bloyce Durden.
Her family includes two daughters, Gail Colson Durden and husband Ken of Blue Ridge, Cathy Colson Bondurant and husband Chuck of Cumming; one son, Mannie Milton Colson and wife Cheryl of Fountain, Florida; seven grandchildren, Beth Morgan and husband Christopher, Garrett Bondurant and wife Victoria, Crystal Chandler and husband Cory, Adam Colson, Justin Bondurant, Rachel Brownfield and husband Andy Webster, and Jeff Brownfield; twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Donald Ferrarini.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
A graveside funeral service will be Thursday morning, July 11th, at 10:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery with Pastor Brian Durden officiating.
